Zeven maanden oorlog in Jemen
The Economist vertelt nog maar eens over de ellende die de interventie van Saoedi-Arabië en bondgenoten heeft gebracht:
So great is the suffering that tens of thousands of residents have fled to the relative comfort of Somalia, which is saying something.
Gisternacht werd overigens nog een ziekenhuis van Artsen zonder Grenzen (waarvan de precieze locatie bij de Saoedi’s bekend was) herhaaldelijk gebombardeerd:
“With the hospital destroyed, at least 200,000 people now have no access to lifesaving medical care,” Doctors Without Borders said in a statement. Hassan Boucenine, the group’s head of mission in Yemen, said in the statement that the attack was “another illustration of a complete disregard for civilians in Yemen, where bombings have become a daily routine.”
