QdJ – Van Bommel in Moskou
Harry van Bommel (SP) maakt deel uit van de Kamerdelegatie die deze week Rusland aandoet, en hij weet hoe je vrienden maakt in Moskou:
The SP of the Netherlands vehemently opposes the unilateral and dangerous policy by the European Union and the USA to stimulate Kosovo independence against the will of the Serbian government. “This risks a cascade of unilaterally declared independencies of numerous minority groups in many states in the world. On top of that it risks violence on the Balkans and several other parts of the world. After the bloodshedding in the nineties this has to be prevented. The SP wants negotiations until a viable bilateral agreement can be reached”, according to Van Bommel, who participates in the official delegation of the Standing Committee of Foreign Affairs of Dutch parliament who is visiting Moscow this week.
The SP is opposing the American plans to implement radarstations and other parts of its global missile shield in European countries as Poland and the Czech Republic. In this respect the SP chooses the same stance as president Putin who has warned for international relations as in the Cold War era. Van Bommel agrees with Russia that this new missile shield is about full spectrum military dominance of the American foreign policies and has little to do with missiles of so called rogue states as Iran or Syria. “The missile shield and a new Cold War have to be prevented”, according to Van Bommel.
