The report stated: “There would be mutual benefit if there were closer collaboration and interaction between CRU and a much wider scientific group outside the relatively small international circle of temperature specialists.”
Dr Benny Peiser, director of the Global Warming Policy Foundation, criticised the panel for producing a report that was “not even-handed” and appeared to be the product of a “rushed job”.
He said: “This has produced a very superficial report. The panel should have taken more time to come to more balanced and trustworthy conclusions.
“They should have heard evidence from critical researchers who have been working in the same field for many years.” /devilsadvocate

Climategate draait om de gedachte dat wetenschappers oneerlijk bezig zijn geweest. Die mythe is ontkracht. Climategate blijkt een hoax te zijn.

Er zijn 2 aparte zaken, dat weet je zeer goed.
Zoals je wellicht hebt opgemerkt heb ik mij juist niet primair gefocused op het climategate emailgedoe, maar op het bredere al veel langer bestaande sceptische geluid. (de rol van de zon, kosmische straling Scafetta, van Geel, Lindzen, Cern, Kirkby, Svensmark, UHI, treedata, divergence problem) Ik typte al sceptische comments ver voor de cruhack. De hack heeft dat geluid luider laten horen omdat sceptici meer dan voorheen betrokken werden bij nieuws over global warming.
Dat wetenschappers eerder ipcc grafieken hebben aangepast voor extra dramatisch effect staat ook vast, geef dat ook eens toe.
Ik denk dat er sprake is van opwarming, maar (algemeen erkend) dat de data vaak brak is. Gelukkig is er (nog) geen mega opzet gevonden hiervoor, gefeliciteerd. Het idee dat sceptici pas bestaan via de emailhack is onjuist. De term climategate is ouder dan de datum vd cru-hack (lek! wikileaks et.)
