Voordat de absurdistische antikapitalistische film Sorry To Bother You (2018) uitkwam, was er jaren ervoor een gelijknamig album van regisseur Boots Riley met zijn band The Coup. In 2012 had Riley het scenario al geschreven, maar geen geld om de film te maken, en dus maakte The Coup dit album.
