A space telescope peering into the Milky Way galaxy’s dusty core has spied a colossal twisted ribbon of super-cooled material. Until now astronomers had only seen bits and pieces of the ribbon’s 600-light-year-wide superstructure, which resembles the Latin symbol for infinity.
The telescope’s images suggest the ring is a chilly 15 degrees Kelvin and has two segments that poke out of the galaxy’s pancake-like plain. Ground-based radio telescope data also hint that the ring is spinning around the core as one cohesive unit.

The Fighting Cholitas are a group of female lucha libre wrestlers who perform in El Alto, Bolivia. The Cholitas are part of a group called the Titans of the Ring, which includes both male and female wrestlers. The Titans perform each Sunday for an audience of hundreds at El Alto’s Multifunctional Center.
The idea of including female wrestlers as a maneuver for publicity came from Juan Mamami, a wrestler and president of the Titans. They routinely attract over a thousand spectators to their bouts in El Alto and several hundred spectators when they travel with the Titans to smaller towns.

Around the world there are many abandoned prisons, once cages for people – some criminals, some political prisoners. Many disused prisons have been left to rot and decay, while a few have been demolished.
No longer places for the incarcerated, many of these derelict landscapes are now the realms of urban explorers who document the abandonment and degradation of the former correctional institutions in pictures.
