Tijdens een mooi openluchtconcert gisteren, alwaar met zeer veel genoegen heel wat mensen behoorlijk wat geld hadden gespendeerd, dwaalden mijn gedachten af naar Churchill, Winston en bovenstaande quote. Ik herinnerde ‘m mij echter als ‘communist’ ipv ‘socialist’. (En blijks bovenklik ligt de herkomst wel ergens anders, maar soit.) Hoe staat het daar tegenwoordig mee, dwaalde ik tussen nummer 8 en 10 in gedachten verder, en behoeft deze uitspraak geen update?
Want als je een jeansbroek in de H&M voor 20 euro kan kopen, als je voor dat bedrag kan Ryanairen naar weet-ik-waar, als je een printer of een dvdspeler kan kopen voor niet veel meer -zijn wij dan rijk en gelijk geworden?
