Niet alle amerikanen zijn door haat verblinde wereldvreemde oorlogshitsers. Aan de west- en oostkust vindt je nog pockets met vredelievende genuanceerde mensen. Zo viel een discussie op het warblog Daily Kos mij allezins mee.
Onder de titel “Finding a way out” wordt gefilosofeerd over hoe straks, als in 2004 de Democraten weer het Witte Huis overnemen, de enorme schade in binnen- en buitenland hersteld kan worden.
“What would you do?” :
– Raise taxes, of course, the rebuilding of Iraq will cost. Probably let the UN run the country while it’s being rebuilt. Apologize to the UN.
– Apologize to the world for arrogance.
– I would get the U.N. involved and get rid of these U.S. only contracts. I would also immediately work on a peace deal between Israel and Palestine.
– Put Bush cabal on trial for war crimes.
– Make the republicans who brought this war to us pay.
– Partition Iraq into 3 countries: Kurdistan, Baghdadland, and Shiiteland.
– I would crawl into bed, roll myself into the fetal position, cover my head with blankies and weep.
[nu zouden het zomaar europeanen kunnen zijn die zich voordoen als genuanceerde amerikanen, maar toch…]
