Update 1: the shoot took place on a main artery in southern Mexico City.. ..producer Sergio Mayer “did not request police assistance” for the filming.. ..the driver had alcohol on his breath.. ..the driver and the producer could be held responsible for the actor’s death.

Update 2: You see this guy [car driver] did not give any bribes, he is not in jail because the DA’s office in Mexico said that the bikers were not wearing a helmet, were not supposed to be riding more than one bike per lane and some other lame ass excuses as to why not to prosecute this son of a bitch. I mean this guy [motorist] has a wife and a little girl, who are now left with no means of support. (Ramiretz from Mexico adds in the comments)

Verder is dit natuurlijk zeer duidelijk een amerikaanse actie gezien de minivan, of toch een ongeluk?
Ik weet het niet, maar s’avonds stapvoets rijden (zie de strepen op het wegdek) is in mexico dus niet verstandig.
Een goede bekende van me handelt schadegevallen af bij AXA. Hij vertelde mij ooit over een ongeluk in het Oosten van het land waar nederlandse soldaten bij wijze van spelletje ‘savonds uit de kazerne ontsnapten om te gaan racen in de omgeving.
Het was een colonne van motorrijders en auto’s. Deze motorrijder had ook geen helm op en kwam met hoge snelheid ten val vlak voor de auto die hem achtervolgde. Op het asfalt zat “een hersenspoor van dertig meter”. Zo stond het in het politierappport: “een hersenspoor van dertig meter…”
Het incident werd in de doofpot gestopt want de landmacht kan zulke imago-beschadiging niet gebruiken. Maar regelmatig nog als ik een motorrijder voorbij zie stuiven dan prevel ik:
“een hersenspoor van dertig meter…”

27 meter per seconde………….

Het leven is een stuk sneller geworden.
Ha! Zo had ik er nog niet tegenaan gekeken!

A television actor and dancer killed in a traffic crash was violating laws by driving his motorcycle on a highway and filming without a permit, prosecutors in Mexicos capital said today. Edgar Ponce, who has appeared on television soap operas and in the male dance troupe For Women Only, died Thursday after a car hit his motorcycle on a highway where trucks, motorcycles and delivery vehicles are required to use side lanes. Police said the driver was not trying to kill Ponce, and did not appear drunk, but was accused of involuntary homicide — similar to manslaughter — and released on a bail of 300,000 pesos (US$27,000).
