On the Colombian navy’s flagship the Gloria, 16.5 kg heroin and 10 kg cocaine was found. Just before it was to visit the US and Europe to promote Colombia’s image abroad.
President Alvaro Uribe called the incident a stain on the nation’s honour and ordered the entire 75 crew members suspended. (BBC)
