A series of hacks to popular sites like LinkedIn, Yahoo!, eHarmony and Last.fm has revealed the startlingly easy passwords we all use. How often have you created a password with words like 'password' or '123456'? The numbers say you're not the only one. Of the 442,773 total passwords hacked from Yahoo!, close to a quarter were used by more than one person. Although this shows that the majority of us aren't very original when we create passwords, there are clear patterns we can avoid to make our passwords a little more secure. Don't end your password with a year, don't use common base words, substitute numbers or characters for letters when you can, and try to make it something unique to you. David Cerny, a Czech artist has re-modelled a traditional London double-decker bus into a mechanical sculpture of an athlete doing push-ups to celebrate the Olympic Games opening in the British capital on Friday. The bus is installed outside the Czech Olympic House in London’s Islington neighbourhood.
Cerny bought the 1957 bus from an owner in the Netherlands, attached two huge arms, an electrical engine and a lot of wiring and suspension tools to make it into a piece of art named ‘London Boosted.’

We onderhouden zelf de site en houden als moderator een oogje op de discussies. Om Sargasso in stand te houden hebben we wel wat geld nodig. Zodat we de site in de lucht kunnen houden, we af en toe kunnen vergaderen (en borrelen) en om nieuwe dingen te kunnen proberen.
Ferropolis, ’the city of iron’ is a museum – opened in 1995 – of old huge industrial machines in Gräfenhainichen, a city near Dessau, Germany. It’s an open air museum which contains machines from the mid-twentieth century.
They can measure to 30 meters high, 120 meters long and weigh up to 1980 tons. As skeletons of huge extinct dinosaurs, these derelict machines seem finally resting in a graveyard of obsolete technology.

De BVD zette tot tweemaal toe personeel en financiële middelen in voor een concurrerende communistische partij. BVD-agenten hielpen actief mee met geld inzamelen voor de verkiezingscampagne. De regering liet deze operaties oogluikend toe. Het parlement wist van niets.
