NIEUWS - Roger Ailes, de oprichter van Fox News, is vanochtend overleden. De necrologie van Matt Taibbi samengevat:

Taibbi ziet hem als hoofdverantwoordelijke voor de huidige polarisatie in de Amerikaanse politiek en media:
We are a hate-filled, paranoid, untrusting, book-dumb and bilious people whose chief source of recreation is slinging insults and threats at each other online, and we’re that way in large part because of the hyper-divisive media environment he discovered.
The extent to which we hate and fear each other now – that’s not any one person’s fault. But no one person was more at fault than Roger Ailes.
Roger Ailes is 77 jaar geworden.

Foxnews is not the real guide to show you how bad journalism can get, but it is a handy compass in that respect.
