Op FilePile duiken soms merkwaardige verhalen op: een ‘piler’ vond bij de verbouwing van z’n huis een blik vol gouden ringen én vullingen!
De buit van grafschenners?
We purchased a 1920’s brick colonial that has been neglected for years. I have been demolishing the basement, taking literally 6.5 tons of plaster, wire lathe, and drywall out. As I was taking down the ceiling in the boiler room, I looked up and saw this can wedged up in the ceiling, under the floor of the kitchen. I reached up, grabbed it, and gave it a shake – it felt like a bunch of bolts and nuts.
I then almost had a heart attack when I opened it and was staring at over 200 gold rings.
All 10k/24k, some sterling, a few diamonds. Some wedding, some class, a few mason.
Now it gets really creepy:
There were some gold filings and bridges in the can…….
so what do you think? someone was a grave robber? someone knocked over a pawnshop?
I’m going to have my mother (an antique dealer) give everything the once over, but I think most of it will be sold for scrap.
Needless to say, I’m taking apart the rest of the house verrrry slowly.
Thank dog I didn’t bid the demo job out, eh?

Misschien heeft er wel zo’n enge oude nazi gewoond als in the Marathon Man?
